The Waco Tea Party is hosting an exploratory forum for possible candidates to run for US District 17 Representative. There will be six potential candidates participating in the Exploratory Forum. The Waco Tea Party is hosting this public event as a way for the voters of District 17 to hear the participants’ responses to the concerns of their potential constituents.
Where: Waco Convention Center — Bosque Theater
When: Wednesday June 17 from 6:00-9:00 PM
There is limited seating, so be the first to reserve your seat today! To reserve your seat, SEND US AN E-MAIL with “Tickets” in the subject line. There is no charge for this event, but you must have a reserved spot.
The forum will be conducted in a manner similar to the Saddleback forum hosted by Rick Warren for Presidential Candidates John McCain and Barack Obama. At 6:00, the Waco Tea Party will give an address to the audience on the Waco Tea Party and the nationwide tea party movement. Promptly at 7:00, the forum will begin. The order will be determined by a draw prior to the event. During each participant’s turn, the other participants will be secluded until it is their turn to take the stage. They will not know the questions that they will be asked prior to taking the stage. Each candidate will have a short introduction followed by a question and answer session, inluding a “yes” or “no” lightning round. Questions will be submitted by the voters of District 17 and chosen by Waco Tea Party coordinators. After the event, there will be an opportunity for you to personally meet and speak with the participants.
To submit a question for the Exploratory Forum, please SEND US AN E-MAIL with “Exploratory Forum Question” in the subject line. Waco Tea Party organizers will gather your submissions and choose questions centered around limited government, fiscal responsibility, and free markets. Based on the number of responses, not all questions submitted can be used.
