ICLEI and College Station’s Agenda 21

ICLEI is active in College Station via the city council and Agenda 21.

ICLEI – Local Governments for Sustainability is an international association of local governments as well as national and regional local government organizations that have made a commitment to sustainable development.

ICLEI provides technical consulting, training, and information services to build capacity, share knowledge, and support local government in the implementation of sustainable development at the local level. Our basic premise is that locally designed initiatives can provide an effective and cost-efficient way to achieve local, national, and global sustainability objectives.

I think it is time that we organize ourselves to rid ourselves of this agenda from College Station. My wife and I have noticed the creeping environmental alarmism in the communications from the CS Utilities especially in regards to water.

Are the folks in Welborn aware of this issue and the philosophies they will be subject to if CS annexes them?

Also has anyone noticed the position announcement for a sustainability coordinator in the CS government? Do we really need such a position?

We are certainly going to spread the news on this!!

Joe! Any help other tea partiers can send our way in Wellborn is welcome. I am not yet familiar with this group, but do know that CS keeps wanting to take over Wellborn Water and they keep suing us and they keep losing. Wellborn is for less government- we want to live under a modest municipal governnmnet, not a CS one. Please help.

The B/CS Tea Party will definitely be discussing property rights in future pot luck dinners. The right to property is an integral necessity to freedom and liberty. Without the protection of that right, there is no freedom.
