    I called Rep. Fred Brown’s office to get his opinion. iWAS TOLD HE HAS NO POSITION ON THE SPEAKER CONTROVERSY.I then wrote to him on his website asking him to clarify his position. Everyone concerned should contact Brown again and again until he pledges to vote against the status quo.

    Actually, Representative Brown does have a position on the Texas Speaker race, and stated in an interview on 89.1FM KEOS during Information Underground that he is supporting Representative Straus. By the way, Straus is no liberal, and choosing the Speaker of the House in the Republican caucus is antidemocratic.
